ADVENTURE SOUTH GUIDE SERVICE
-Buras/Empire/Venice---

Because of a string of cancellations due to bad weather, I've been trying to catch up on chores here around the house. I did have a few other trips go out the last 2 days and here's how they went.

On Monday Capt. Larry took out Mr. Rudy Lambert and his son from Fort Worth. TX. The crew that I was supposed to take was local and we both decided that in light of the weather forecast that was given Sunday, that it would be better to reschedule. Well, as luck would have it, the weather held off, and Capt. Larry, along with the Lamberts', was able to put a whipping on the fish. They started the morning by catching redfish after redfish and then stuck an anchor in a spot and proceeded to catch trout hand over fist until they had a nice limit of fat speckled trout. To put it in Larry's words, "it was an awesome day!"

Yesterday Capt. Larry was supposed to take the Lamberts' out again, but with the cold front stalled over Venice, the rains and high winds prompted them to change their plans and they opted to go into New Orleans and spend the day while waiting on their flight back to Fort Worth. I to had a trip that was supposed to go out, but my customers decided that they would rather wait for more favorable conditions. Capt. Ross did, have a trip for me with Mr. Jim Myers of MS and a few friends from AL. They had come a long way to go fishing, and I was very disappointed when I got up and saw what the weather was like down in Venice. With the front stalling over Venice, I knew that fishing would be tough. Capt. Ross and his crew decided to hold off for a few hours and see if the rain would let up. It did, and they decided to give it a try. Conditions were tough, but Capt. Ross worked hard to put the guys on fish and they ended the day with 50 nice trout in the boat. That is another awesome day, particularly when you consider that the wind was blowing a steady 20+ knots, with higher gusts. I think I'll start booking more trips for Ross when the weather looks like it's going to be bad (HA, HA)!

I'd like to thank Capt. Larry and Capt. Ross for going the extra mile to insure that these clients had an awesome trip. There are plenty of guides, but I can promise you that you will not find a guide that is any better or harder working then either Larry or Ross. They turned 2 tough days of fishing into 2 awesome days on the water.
