ADVENTURE SOUTH GUIDE SERVICE
-Buras/Empire/Venice---

It?s been a long time since my last report. There are two reasons why I have not posted in some time. Reason #1 is because I just got a little lazy, and reason #2, and probably the real reason, is that I just got sick and tired of posting an honest and true report, only to have other guys in the same area post reports that always seemed to have fish jumping in the boat. There are several guides out there who use this and other sites to do nothing but promote their business, and don?t care if the report is true or not. If they can book a trip by telling some lies, that?s all they care about. Oh well, to each his own. At any rate, I am going to make a real effort to continue my post for this year.

Today I had J.K. Brock, Robin, and Don from New Mexico. These guys have fished with me several times in the past, but did not make it down last year. This morning we launched in Empire, and headed out toward Buras in search of whatever would bite. I say this, because yesterday and the day before were terrible. Yesterday we struggled to put 15 trout and 1 red in the boat, and the day before it was even worse. The only bright spot about Monday was the 7.9 lb. trout that I caught. You would know that on a slow day, I would be the one to catch the sow of the trip. At any rate, this morning started off a lot nicer than yesterday with several nice trout (5 lb.) coming to the net at our first stop. The bite was not fast and furious, but was consistent enough to make it interesting. So the day went, a few here, a few there, and when we got back to the dock the total was 52 trout and 7 reds. That is a good catch any day, but even better after the last few days. All the fish were caught using Purple/Chartreuse or Black/Chartreuse Deadly Dudley Terror Tails on ? ounce jig heads.

On another note, had a few pictures e-mailed to me from a trip I did last week. Check out the trout I am holding. At the risk of sounding like a fish story, let?s just say that the fish in the picture was a lot bigger than the 7.9 that I caught the other day. Of course, I had no scale on board, but I do know that it was one of the biggest trout that I have ever caught.
