ADVENTURE SOUTH GUIDE SERVICE-Buras/Empire/Venice---

Today we had the infamous Hook, Line, and Sinker Fishing Club down with us for the 3rd time this year to do a little fishing in Venice. I headed straight to the spot where my clients caught some beautiful trout yesterday, and the conditions looked to be perfect when we arrived. There was lots of bait, and a good current line forming where the dirty pass water flowed into the "trout green" bay water. The bite was slow, so the guys did not catch very many (17 trout), but they were all nice quality fish. We tried a few other trout spots, but the bite was slow. The other 3 boats fishing with us today each caught their limit of reds and were throwing them back before 8:00, so we decided that we better get with the program and start beating the canes.

Our 1st couple of spots only produced a few reds and I was about to make a move when Capt. Johnson?s boat called and said that they would gladly let us slide into their spot since they were just playing catch and release. Not one to turn down an invitation to a redfish rodeo, I slid my boat into the "honey hole", and was hardly settled when one of the guys hooked up. For the next few minutes the guys would hook up on almost every cast and were able to fill their limits in no time. Not long after that we headed to the house and were back to the dock at a little past 11:00. Talk about get spoiled quickly with any more trips like that!!!

The weather is improving daily and the fishing should do so as well. The trout are around to be caught, but the winds will not let us fish everywhere we would like to.

As usual we used, Deadly Dudley Terror Tails, fishing them 2' under a cork to catch the trout, and stick crickets under a cork to catch the reds. If you want to go fishing with a guide service that prides itself on giving it?s clients an outdoor adventure of a life time, give me a call at home (504) 392-1700, or on my cell (504) 382-2711. You do not want to miss any of that hot topwater or night fishing action, and the available days in July/August are limited. I Guarantee Fish and Fun!!!

And remember, when fishing with Adventure South Guide Service, you will catch your own fish. I will not catch them for you, unless you ask (Ha, Ha).

Until Net Time, Catch Em' Up!!!
